One of the longest-surviving gay venues on the Sitges scene, El Horno ("The Oven" in English) is a cosy and friendly taverna-style bar.
As one of only a few bars in Sitges to open its doors early in the evening, El Horno is still the place to go for a quiet drink after a long session on the beach.
Remembered fondly for its upstairs dark room (now relocated to the cavernesque oven at the back), El Horno is still a perfect place for men to meet, chat and cruise.
Catering to a cosmopolitan clientele of locals and visitors from around the world, El Horno's friendly and approachable staff are on hand to dispense a huge range of beers, wines and spirits, accompanied by an eclectic choice of music which ranges from classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s, to the latest in pop, rock, indie, dance and electronic beats.
LOCATION & OPENING HOURS:
El Horno is located at Carrer Joan Tarrida, 6, 08870 Sitges, Spain (opposite XXL). The bar is open every day throughout the year from 5.30pm - 3am. From 5.30pm - 7pm, get your second drink for just 1€.
BEAR EVENTS:
Although El Horno no longer hosts special events during the summer - the legendary Underwear parties having moved to the larger and cruisier Man Bar - as headquarters of the Bears Sitges Club, El Horno is one of the key venues for the raucous Bears Weeks held annually in April/May and September, when hundreds of hairy bears and their fans fill the bar, spilling onto the streets and into XXL, which opens its doors early especially for these occasions. During these two furry, fun-filled weeks, El Horno is the place to go and is especially busy between 5-7pm, with the fun continuing at XXL from 7-9pm.
